Do you know what Steampunk is? Who is that Jules Verne, Da Vinci, Sherlock Holmes, Tim Burton…? Ask any of our Vocational training students in IES Politecnico taking Mechatronics, Welding, Chemistry, Laboratory or Civil Engineering and they will answer.
Steampunk is a taste for a past that never was. Its look can be found in cinema (Tim Burton loves that), clothing, literature (Jules Verne was number one at this), music and even industry.
This XXI Century machines, inventions and gadgets have a XIX C. look, still
with a strong british accent in colour, materials and powering.
The English Department has tried to “become industrial” in a kind homage to Steam and Industrial Revolution both as a means to pay tribute to the anglo-speaking industry and a way to motivate ors students to investigate, prepare an orally present their products.
